The prayers every Catholic learns first — the Our Father, the Hail Mary, the Gloria, the Creeds, and the Confiteor.
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us: and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Pray for me, who is so miserable; pray for me, that I may finally receive the consolations and the succor of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (add your personal request here), and that I may bless God with the Elect Throughout Eternity.

St. Monica is the patron saint of mothers, patience, and wayward children. She prayed faithfully for seventeen years for the conversion of her son, Augustine, who had fallen into heresy and a life of sin. Through her persistent tears and unwavering faith, Augustine was ultimately baptized and became one of the greatest saints and Doctors of the Church. She is the primary intercessor for parents whose adult children have strayed from the faith.
Dear Saint Monica, you were once the mournful mother of a prodigal son. Your faithfulness to prayer brought you and your son so close to God that you are now with him in eternity. By your intercession and God’s grace, your son St. Augustine became a great and venerable Saint of the Church. Please take my request to God with the same fervor and persistence with which you prayed for your own son.

With your needs, worries and anxieties, you threw yourself on the mercy and providence of God. Through sorrow and pain, you constantly devoted yourself to God. Pray for me that I might join you in such a deep faith in God’s goodness and mercy. Exemplary Mother of the Great Augustine, you perseveringly pursued your wayward son, not with wild threats but with prayerful cries to heaven. Intercede for all parents in our day so that they may learn to draw their children to God. Teach them how to remain close to their children, even the prodigal sons and daughters who have sadly gone astray.

Our Lady of Sorrows (Mater Dolorosa) is invoked under this title because of the seven great sorrows she endured throughout her life, especially during the Passion and Death of her Son. As a mother who suffered profoundly, she understands the anguish of parents whose children are lost in sin, addiction, or estrangement. This prayer surrenders one’s children to Mary’s maternal heart, invoking the Precious Blood of Jesus for their protection and conversion.
O Mother most holy and sorrowful, Queen of Martyrs, you who stood by your Son as He agonized on the Cross; by the sufferings of your life, by that sword of pain that pierced your heart, by your perfect joy in heaven, look down on me kindly as I kneel before you, sympathizing with your sorrows and offering you my petition with childlike trust.
Dear Mother, since your Son refuses you nothing, ask of His Sacred Heart to mercifully grant what I ask, through the merits of His sacred Passion, along with those of your sufferings at the foot of the Cross.
I invoke the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ to cover and protect my child (Name). May the Holy Spirit enlighten his/her mind and cast away all darkness.

This prayer was composed by the St. Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal, under the direction of Msgr. Stephen Rossetti, an exorcist of the Archdiocese of Washington. It recognizes the special spiritual authority that parents have over their families. For minor children, parents can use imprecatory prayers (commanding evil spirits to leave). For adult children, the prayer is directed to God in deprecatory form (beseeching God to act). In either case, it is God who casts out evil and brings healing.
Heavenly Father, I invoke the full authority you have given me as a spouse and a parent and I lift any curses, spells, seals, hexes, vexes, consecrations, voodoo, or any occult action or any evil affecting me or my spouse or my children who are minors. In Jesus’ name, I cast out all evil spirits that are harming us. In Jesus’ name, I reject them, I rebuke them, I renounce them, and I cast them out!
For my adult children, I beg you Heavenly Father to hear a parent’s plea and free them from any of these occult actions or any evil, and cast out all evil spirits.
Father, I beseech you to send a spirit of unity and peace to my family. Heal the divisions in our family; may those family members who are estranged from each other be reconciled in forgiveness and love. May we live together in your peace.
I pray for special healing graces for each one of us. Heal the wounds that plague us — heal any depression, anxiety, fears, compulsions, addictions, angers, resentments, and any and all mental and physical illnesses. Restore us to full health.

It asks God to lift the spirit of a struggling child, fill their mind with peace, and guide their steps in righteousness. This binding prayer is prescribed by Fr. Chad Ripperger, a Catholic priest, exorcist, and theologian, and is published in his book Deliverance Prayers: For Use by the Laity (with imprimatur from the Archdiocese of Denver). Binding prayers have deep roots in Sacred Scripture, particularly in the Book of Tobit, where the Archangel Raphael was sent to bind the demon Asmodeus (Tobit 3:16–17), and in Our Lord’s own words: “Or how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man?” (Matthew 12:29).
Fr. Ripperger teaches that there are two forms of binding prayer: imprecatory (commanding demons directly) and deprecatory (asking God to act). Which form a person may use depends on their authority under the natural law. Parents have authority over their minor children and may use imprecatory prayers for them. For adult children, parents should use deprecatory prayers directed to God. The person praying should be a baptized Catholic in a state of grace.
Important: Fr. Ripperger advises that the person praying this binding prayer should be a baptized Catholic in a state of sanctifying grace (i.e., having made a good confession). He also recommends maintaining a disciplined prayer life, including the Angelus at 6 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m., and frequent reception of the sacraments.
In Thy Name, Lord Jesus Christ, we pray that Thou wouldst cover us, our families, and all of our possessions with Thy love and Thy Most Precious Blood and surround us with Thy heavenly angels, saints, and the mantle of Our Blessed Mother.
Spirit of N. (name the specific spirit, vice, or affliction: e.g., spirit of addiction, spirit of anger, spirit of lust, spirit of despair, etc.)

“N.” can be any particular vice or issue that you are praying against. For example: if your child struggles with addiction, you might bind the spirit of addiction; if with anger, the spirit of anger; if with impurity, the spirit of lust or fornication. Most Blessed Trinity, by the authority given to me by the natural law and by Thy giving these things and rights to me, I claim authority, rights, and power over my (Name / family / children) and anything else that pertains to the oppression. By the merits of Thy Sacred Wounds, I reclaim the rights, powers, and authority over anything which I may have lost or conceded to any demon, and I ask Thee to remove any demon’s ability to influence or affect anything in my life.
God the Father, humiliate the demons that have sought to steal Thy glory from Thee by oppressing Thy creatures. We beseech Thee to show Thy great glory and power over them and Thy great generosity to me, Thine unworthy creature, by answering all that I have asked of Thee.

Yield then to God! You are vanquished in your citadel, all you vile demons. The most Sovereign Queen of Heaven, the glorious and ever Virgin Mary, through her immaculate purity drives you out; before her countenance you must flee. Give way, you evil spirits, to the Queen of Heaven. She is destined by Almighty God to crush your head with her heel.
B. Lord Jesus Christ, in thy love and mercy establish a perimeter of protection around N. and myself and all our loved ones, those who pray for us and their loved ones. May the Holy Angels guard him/her/us and all our possessions, establishing a perimeter of protection around N., rendering him/her/us immune from any kind of demonic influence. I ask that no demonic bondage, door, demonic entity, portal, astral projection, or disembodied spirit may enter the space of 100 yards in all directions of him/her/us. I ask that any demons within this vicinity or any that should try to enter here be rendered deaf, dumb and blind; that Thou would strip them of all weapons, armor, power, illusions, and authority; that Thou would bind, rebuke and disable them from communicating or interacting with each other in any way. The promise given by our Lord on December 10, 2020 to a faithful man who believes he heard the Lord dictate this prayer to him:

How a lay person baptizes in an emergency, and the oldest surviving instruction on baptism, from the Didache.
Pour common water on the head or face of the person to be baptized, and say while pouring it: "I baptize thee in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
N.B. Any person of either sex who has reached the use of reason can baptize in case of necessity, but the same person must say the words while pouring the water.
From the Didache, the church manual written in the late first or early second century — the oldest surviving description of Christian baptism outside the New Testament. It is given here as a witness to the practice of the early Church, not as the present discipline of the Roman Rite. For validity, only the Trinitarian form and the washing with water are required; the preferences below for running water and for cold water, and the fast, were the customs of that age and were never conditions.
Baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Baptize in running water, but if you have no running water, then baptize in some other water. Baptize in cold water. Ideally, pour water on the head three (3) times in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Note: In the Didache, the one baptizing and the one to be baptized fast for one or two days beforehand. This was never allowed to delay a baptism in danger of death — in an emergency, use the rite above at once.
